Not a tutorial video like the others I’ve posted, but a document of my classroom process. Students could work in groups or by themselves to create a sample library for their first foray into electronic composition.
I observed that the students which worked in groups probably learned more than the one’s that worked solo. The software is complicated to operate; the “hive” mind of the groups all contributed to operating the computers, coming up with ideas for sounds to record, or experimenting with the materials. The quality of the samples was generally inventive and sophisticated. Students were able to record and export approximately 40 to 60 recordings in three class-meetings.
